​Kristen Personius is a Colorado native and Grammy-nominated composer and producer known for her versatile and immersive musical style. Kristen began composing at the age of five where her early love for composing was nurtured by an upbringing in the arts. In middle school, she often made playful, scripted movies with friends, composing the scores and themes, which ignited her passion for the film industry.

When she was sixteen, her piano solo 'Efface' was published through the FJH music company making her the youngest composer to be published by them. Over the next few years she performed her piano solos throughout the US at various events and concerts. During college, Kristen honed her craft by focusing on film composition and jazz piano performance during her studies. Her background in both jazz and classical music lead her to push her harmonic voice further and experiment with unique pairings and voicings in her film music. 

Her distinctive musical voice can be heard on a wide variety of projects, including 'Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake', Tyler Perry's 'Sistas' (Season 7), and James Cameron's 'Super/Natural Planet' narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch to name a few. ​Her collaborations with world-renowned creatives have led to notable achievements, including composing the score for Tyler Perry’s upcoming 'Joy Ridge', contributing to the Emmy-winning 'HOME' (Season 2) soundtrack, and receiving a Grammy Nomination for her work as a producer on Kevin Powell's 'Grocery Shopping with My Mother' spoken word album. 

Kristen's work is characterized by strong thematic writing and sonic versatility, often drawing on her personal experiences and diverse musical background as a composer, producer and songwriter. She utilizes an eclectic range of instruments and analogue synths to create rich, textured compositions that resonate with audiences. Her diverse musical background drives her to think-outside the box with her musicality; Pairing familiar tones with non-traditional approaches. She is passionate about bringing filmmakers' and artists musical visions to life, drawing on her broad experience in collaborating with creatives across various genres and disciplines. 

Throughout the years, Kristen has established herself as a songwriter, vocalist, and producer, releasing her own artist project under the artist name 'girlgoshy'. In addition to her solo work, she has been involved in arranging, writing, and producing for various shows and artists. Her voice and production can be heard on projects like Nick Jr.'s 'Face's Music Party', HBOMax's 'Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake', Freeform's 'Good Trouble', and the main title of Disney+'s 'Super/Natural Planet', to name a few. Kristen frequently collaborates with a wide range of artists, contributing her songwriting and production skills to their projects. 

In 2024, Kristen was recognized by the Recording Academy in NEXT: The Future of the Music Industry, highlighting her as an emerging talent in the music. She is also passionate about uplifting others in the music industry and participates as a mentor through different organizations such as 'She Is The Music', 'Soundtrack Mixers' and various panels. 

 

Beyond the studio, Kristen finds inspiration in nature. An avid climber and adventurer, she often embarks on climbing, camping, and backpacking trips with her loyal shepherd, Kevin.
